The journey of this restoration started when I was in H.S. I worked

for my neighbor Mike who owned the truck. On weekends, I would

work events until my senior year when I was able to drive. I had

so much fun driving this truck meeting people. One of my first

events was a Car Show at Union County College in Cranford, NJ.

After the summer of my senior year, I moved on to other jobs but

in the back of my mind I always thought about driving the truck again.

Fast track to 2010 my old neighbor contacted me about purchasing one of the old trucks. With the help from my family I was able to purchase the vehicle. I am grateful to have the help from my parents, my brothers and friends. It took 3 years of research and hundreds of hours to restore the classic 1966 Good Humor Truck. The truck was stripped down to the frame and sand blasted to remove all the paint. The truck was rewired front to back, A new compressor was installed which keeps the box at -20 degrees. The engine was also refurbished to original specs. The original 16" split rims were replaced to a safer updated rim and tire.

We have received numerous trophies from various Car

Shows around the state. The best thing about driving this

truck is hearing all the stories of when they were a kid,

it never gets old. This truck takes people back in time.

I hear the same story at every event “I remember my

Good Humor Man! His name was Bob or John or Mike.

They all remember the name. They also remember the

"Klunk" sound of the door closing. The most memorable

sound is those famous bells mounted above the

windshield going " Ring, Ring, Ring…". We have the

same uniform they wore, all white with the Black Sam

Brown Belt with the coin changer, and the famous white hat!
